Design Perspective
Faux wood blinds are a great alternative to real wood blinds. They still have the same look and beauty as wood blinds but in areas where moisture or cleaning may be an issue they are often the perfect solution. Guests usually can't tell that they are faux wood unless they actually go up to the blinds and feel them. They give that beautiful plantation look too but if they get wet, water has no affect on them. If you have small children or pets this may be a better alternative for you.

Function & Installation Perspective
Faux blinds are like all of our other horizontal blinds, they offer great functionality by way of rotating the slats for view, light blockage or privacy or lifting and lowering for ease of cleaning or maximizing views. Here's a tip for blocking out the harsh sunlight: Rotate the slats about 3/4 closed with the inside edge of slats facing upwards and the sun will be reflected back out the window. This works great for blocking out the sun, gaining a little privacy AND still offers a view to the outdoors.

Fauxwood blinds are extremely easy to install too. With just two screws per bracket and most blinds having only two brackets installation takes less than 3 minutes each. (they take me about 45 seconds each).
